Team OctOs was formed on a few core beliefs. The ROM had to be something we’d run, reliable, and customization by the user to the level of their desire.

Team OctOs presents ROMs that meet  three critical conditions:

1. It’s a ROM we want to run
2. Stable and Reliable
3. AOSP feel and User-Customization together in harmony

Releases appear when we are satisfied in their stability, and not before hand.  We live by the credo that Stability trumps ‘Bleeding Edge’ and not ‘New is everything’.

Team OctOS has bundled together a new Android 6.0.1 Custom ROM for all the mt6582 users to install on their devices.

If you are looking to update your mt6582 device to Android 6.0.1 and you are on mt6582 chipset device, then you should check the instructions listed in this post. This OctOS-MM 6.0.1 ROM is still work in progress, but it is pretty stable and you should at least try it in case you love to tinker with your phone’s OS.

Before starting the installation process of this new ROM you should check the guidelines below.

Note: The installation process of this new ROM is going to take a while. Also, the first boot process should take at least 10 minutes before it loads all the new files.

If you need any extra help completing this guide, then you should tell us in comments.

If installation fails, then the only thing that you need to do is to try and repeat the whole tutorial more than once.

Installation Instruction

CWM/PhilZ Touch Recovery Users.
First Choose ‘Wipe Cache’.
Then Navigate to ‘advance’ and choose ‘Devlik Wipe Cache’ so you won’t get in any bootloop.
Then Finally Choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Navigate to ‘Install zip from sd card’ another windows will open in front of you.
Select ‘choose zip from sd card’ from the Options.
Select the Cm12.1.zip file and confirm the installation on next screen.
Once the Installation is Over, Select +++++Go Back+++++.
Select Reboot Now to Reboot the System.

TWRP Users.
Tap on Wipe Button and Select Cache, System, Data.
Swipe the Confirmation Slider.
Go back to Main Menu and Tap Install Button.
Locate the CM12.1.zip , Swipe the Slider To install it.
Once the Installation is Over, you will promoted to Reboot System Now
Select Reboot Now to Reboot the System.

1.Goto Recovery (CTR v3 Recommended) 
2.click on Mounts/Storage , Then click on Format /system
3.Then Yes, then Format /cache n Format /data
4.go back on home , click on Install Zip,Then choose u r Sdcard (Sdcard0 is u r sdcard)
5.goto CM12.1 zip n click on it , then yes
It will start installing rom

Workarounds :-

 

1. Green Screen on Twitch,Netflix or Snapchat Video :-

   > Delete This Line from Build.prop and reboot.

2. To Get VPN Working :-

Use VPN for wifi 
1. Download psiphon from playstore and open it, choose Browser-Only mode don't tunnel whole device.
2. Go to its logs tab and check the port of http proxy.
3. Now open WiFi setting and long press to your WiFi network (from which u are connected) go to modify tab and from check the advanced options.
4. Chosen manual proxy option and put host name as 127.0.0.1 and port as the no. which you noted in step 2 (eg. 8080) and click save .

For Cellular Data-
1. Download psiphon from playstore and open it, choose Browser-Only mode don't tunnel whole device.
2. Go to its logs tab and check the port of http proxy.
3. Now open Setting>Sim cards>Sim 1/Sim 2 settings/Access Points Names and click on Connected APN
4.In Proxy put 127.0.0.1 and port as the no. which you noted in step 2 (eg. 8080) and click save .

Enjoy you have set up a VPN connection successfully.
You can open your browser and check your IP
Note: You have to undo this after you don't need VPN by changing manual proxy to none .
